Neijing Nature-Based Medicine

Paige Barnes, LAc

Pulse Diagnosis
Movement/Artist in Residence

Paige Barnes is an East Asian medicine practitioner, dance artist, and founder of Peony, where she blends acupuncture, herbal medicine, and creative practices to support holistic healing. Prior to her practice in Chinese medicine, Barnes spent 15 years teaching the GYROTONIC® Method, training under Master Trainer Magali Messac. In 2017, during a three-month residency at the Seattle Art Museum, she pioneered pulse dance reading—listening to a person’s pulse and translating it into movement. This exploration marked a pivotal point in her journey, merging the philosophy of Chinese medicine with artistic expression, deepening her work in belonging and connection.

With an MS in East Asian Medicine from Bastyr University and further studies under Dr. Sabine Wilms and Dr. Edward Neal, Barnes also serves as an associate teacher at Dr. Neal’s Neijing Nature-Based Medicine School, integrating nature-based principles into her care.

Through personalized care, retreats, and performances, Barnes creates a nurturing space for self-discovery and healing, fostering trust in the body’s innate healing process while cultivating a profound connection to the natural world.
